A survey of young film fans has voted Emma Watson’s ‘Harry Potter’ character Hermione Granger as the best big-screen role model.
Around 19 percent of the young film fans have voted the brainy schoolgirl witch as their role model. Emma Watson has played the role of Hermione Granger in all the eight movies of Harry Potter series.
The second place has been conquered with the big screen adaptation of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ seeing poor golden ticket winner Charlie Bucket. It has got 16 percent votes. Whereas the position has been occupied by Matilda Wormword from ‘Matilda’. It was adapted into a movie in 1996 and Mara Wilson played the role. It has received 15 percent votes. Author Roald Dahl is responsible for creating both of these characters.
The poll was carried out by Sam Wainstein from children’s charity Filmclub along with rental and streaming service Lovefilm. It has been believed that films can have a powerful influence on the way children behave. This list can also help the parents in choosing the films that their children can watch.
‘Home Alone’s’ Kevin has conquered the fourth place. The role was played by Macaulay Culkin. Whereas, the fifth place has been conquered by Jaden Smith’s Dre Parker from the ‘Karate Kid’ remake.
